Midday will try to hold off a powerful French raid as she bids to win back-to-back renewals of the Group One Nassau Stakes...

Antara is a German import who has made a sound start in Britain, landing the Princess Elizabeth at Epsom and finishing third in the Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot, both over a mile. She stays this far, but needs to step up.

Barshiba has been as good as ever in 2010, gaining back-to-back wins in the Lancashire Oaks at Haydock last time. She's a free-going sort, so is likely to cope with the shorter trip, but was only fourth behind Midday in this last year.

Midday is a very smart filly, landing this last year as well as the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf. She showed that she retains all her ability when runner-up to Sariska in a Group 2 at York on return, and a bold bid is expected.

Stacelita is a prolific French filly, winning three Group 1's in her native country last year. She was back near her peak on her comeback when comfortably landing the odds in a Group 3 at Longchamp last month, and is a major player.

Strawberrydaiquiri is a highly progressive filly, and she put up her best effort when landing the Group 2 Windsor Forest at Royal Ascot narrowly from Spacious. She was only fourth in the Falmouth last time, but has long shaped as if a step up to this trip will suit.

Contredanse has been much improved for Luca Cumani this year, rattling off two handicap wins prior to a narrow success in the Italian Oaks at Milan (11f). Further improvement is on the cards, but she has yet to prove she's up to this standard.

Rosanara is a French-trained filly who has finished in the frame in two classics in her native country this term, second to stable-companion Sarafina in the Prix de Diane over this trip most recently. She's very much respected.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Midday 2. Stacelita 3. Rosanara

Timeform View:
Stacelita and Rosanara provide a strong French challenge, the former well proven at this level and the latter probably still on the up, and both seem likely to run big races, as could Strawberrydaiquiri up at 1žm for the first time, but preference is still for Midday, who won this last year and ranks behind only Sariska amongst the domestic fillies.
